With all the different browsers on the market today, as well as the proliferation of mobile devices with web access, if your website isn't built on standards-compliant Ascending Style Sheet(CSS) code, then its life span is limited. Older table-based techniques and quasi-CSS builds just won't be able to keep pace with the exploding number of browsers, devices, platforms, screen resolutions, and technologies. The result? Poor (or worse) display of your company, your brand, and your message to an increasing number of viewers.

Flash technologies with long load times or which don't seamlessly fail over to an acceptable non-flash (or java) enabled browser are out. That doesn't mean the same effect can't be achieved. It just means there's a little more research and a little more digging that needs to be done.

Scripts like this easy zoom feature - which a user just needs to scroll his mouse over to see a larger view along with an in-depth caption -are among my favorites.
